50 Acre Designation of Initial Quarry Operations

In line with previous communications and the Land Transaction Agreement (LTA) established with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Graymont has designated 50 acres for initial surface quarry operations.  These 50 acres include ~20 acres of the existing Hendricks quarry and a contiguous ~30 acres to the south of this location.  As part of the designation submittal provided to DNR on December 23, 2015, Graymont included the following information concerning evaluations of the area and description of intended operations and reclamation.

  1. Description of Operating Area
  2. Mine Plan with outline of operations including details of mining sequence, relocation of trails, hydrology study and archeology study
  3. Reclamation Plan
  4. Security for Reclamation Assessment
  5. Security Letter of Credit

Activities began in the area Dec 31, 2015.  Our initial blast for extraction of stone is scheduled for 3:00PM on Tuesday January 12th.

UPDATE: Due to site and weather conditions the initial blast for extraction of stone will be Wednesday January 13th at 3:00PM EST.

Week of January 18, 2016 Blast schedule:  Please note that a blast is scheduled for Wednesday January 20, 2016 at 3:00 pm EST at the Borgstrom Road Quarry.  In the event weather delays this scheduled, this blast will take place the following day Thursday January 21, 2016 at 3:00pm.
